Dr. Carol Van Dyke, Executive Director


Dr. Carol Van Dyke, Psy.D, developed an early interest in empowering young women, while working as a counseling aid for at risk youth while pursuing her bachelor's degree. After graduating with her bachelor's degree, Dr. Van Dyke pursued a master's degree in counseling from Wayne State University where she graduated in 1999 and went on to implement and host a popular one hour call in radio show called Teen Voices in 2002. The show aired weekly on 90.9 FM WDTR and gave teens a platform to talk about personal and social issues from a teenagers perspective.

In 2003, Dr. Van Dyke pursued her doctorate degree and focused her dissertation on Social Aggression among middle school girls, and implemented a conflict resolution intervention. Dr. Van Dyke graduated in 2007 from the Michigan School of Professional Psychology in Farmington Hills, Michigan with a doctorate degree in clinical psychology.

As a counselor, Dr. Van Dyke worked with many adolescents who had difficulty establishing and maintaining peer relationships and over the years has listened to many conversations from girls about fitting in, peer pressure and interpersonal conflicts.

Dr. Van Dyke currently maintains her private practice in Livonia Michigan where she specializes in adolescents, adults and couples with a variety of different issues. Dr. Van Dyke is a resident psychologist on Fox 2 Let it Rip and WDIV channel 4 where she speaks about current events and mental health issues.
